Lately, I’ve been busy and don’t feel as if I’m accomplishing anything other than running from one thing to the next. The feeling of things left unaccomplished at the end of the day bothers me. In a way it seems as if I’ve failed at my job. It’s hard to remember that there will always be more tasks waiting for the next day. So how am I supposed to go about my day and be productive?
The best thing I can do for myself is to give myself grace and not worry about what was left unfinished. First, I need to focus on prioritizing the items that MUST get done today and then once those are completed I can begin tackling the items that it WOULD BE NICE to complete. Second, I need to sit, watch the sun set and remind myself that this day is fading and that it’s ok to leave things on the list.
We have to enjoy the beauty of what did occur during the day and look toward the horizon of the new day yet to come. The sunset happens slowly and should serve as a time for us to release what we are holding on to. So let go of past worry and look forward with hope to beginning a new day!
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
