How often do you experience art? Perhaps it’s something you simply look at or it’s something you listen to.
Others choose to create it.
Being in the interior design and architectural industry I often come across wonderful pieces of art to hang on my clients walls. As I was growing up I was fortunate enough to attend regular musicals that visited the city near my home town. Yet, not everyone is afforded these opportunities and I’m thankful that this past Friday I was in attendance at the Texas Association for Interior Design’s Lot 16 Art Fare. The event featured a variety of ways to experience art.

The event featured a variety of ways to experience art.
The first was to WIN ART via a silent auction. Prizes ranged from large chairs to a small vase or even a tour and brewery experience.
The second was to PURCHASE ART at one of the notorious vendors that had their creations on hand. A few of the items featured were paintings, jewelry, dyed fabric goods, cut paper illustrations, and art created on the spot. One artisan displayed her creative process by putting the brush to canvas in her booth and revealing the completed work to guests.
The final way was to CREATE ART on media at one of the booths. Patrons donned a plastic rain poncho and mixed their own colors to create a one of a kind unique piece.
Whether you have an eye for art or not I highly suggest you get out there and experience all that the art world has to offer. Who knows, maybe you’ll discover a hidden talent!?
